baby formula shortage
seems we are experiencing a massive shortage of baby formula throwing all the young moms into a frenzy. some are even thinking of making their own. well gosh almighty makes me wonder how did mankind make it before baby formula was a commercial product. does the "modern" woman even know the real reason God put those things on her chest.

I found a very old recipe in my long-gone mom's recipe card box for baby formula. It used Carnation evaporated milk mixed with Karo Syrup.
I actually felt a bit of a let down finding this. I wonder if it meant I wasn't weaned the way I thought I was!! 😲

mohawk600, that sounds like a serious problem. Speed and opiates are dangerous for a newborn. I have a friend that will volunteer to conduct a scientific study on this. He isn't a M.D. but did sleep in a Holiday Inn last Wednesday. 😜

My 23 year old son was nursed for almost 2 years. Never gets sick. Bunches and bunches of natural immunity!! Breast milk is where its at!!

For some women nursing isn't an option. There are various reasons for this including non producing breasts. In any case, the shortage has been manufactured.

I heard them talking on the radio today, and they said JOE is talking to manufacturers of baby formula over in Europe to see about them shipping formula to the U.S.
Makes one feel good knowing we can’t even feed are own children. Thanks again JOE and PETE for the great supply chain.

Wow!! Gas and food and everything is getting expensive and we are sending that much cash to Ukraine. And there's no baby formula. Starving American babies all over. I know nothing about babies, except they all pretty much look like Nakita Khrushchev when they are very young, but can't they eat something besides some canned crap from the supermarket?? What happened to milk?? What did babies eat in the 1950?? Again, I know nothing about babies but if I had to care for one and there was no mess in a can, I would strain some collard greens or something to keep it feed. Some people are so useless.

I learned today that the FDA closed a formula plant in Michigan that produced around 40% of the nations supply. The product was recalled and being stored pending the results of the investigation. Two babies had died from bacteria poisoning. It turns out the company was cleared of responsibility in the deaths but the FDA is refusing to let the plant get back into full production.

If a new mother didn't breastfeed at the birth of the baby, after about two weeks at the most, breastmilk dries up. So, it's not an option for moms of babies who are over two weeks old. Can't bring it back once it's gone.

I know a lady she wanted too and tried hard to brest feed her kid but just could not produce enough on her own she had no choice but supplement nature with store bought .lucky the kid is now at the actual food stage so they missed out on the panic
