That's bull crap polluting the lake like that. Every one knows that you bury bodies in the desert. There are hundreds of miles of desert between Vegas and Reno, plenty of room for more bodies.

well the cost of a funeral is a huge even a burden on some or many

1 option a barrel free or maybe 10.00 cost a borrowed boat and some one finds it 15 years later

I have a good retired FBI friend who said the bureau felt due his demise scenario they didn't spend alot of time on the investigation.

What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas .

...Always figured he's at the bottom of a pier hole helping to hold up a 40 story building, where he won't ever be found...

I figured he had an off shore account as chum .

He has been missing for 47 years and finding him now after all this time would be surprising. Other than some closure for a few remaining family members finding him won't accomplish anything because it is likely that those responsible are long dead. Besides finding him would ruin the careers of all those that have written books and made films about the mystery. At the risk of sounding like a fat old female crooked politician, if he is found "What difference does it make". Bob

I would say Hoffa was run though one of those Detroit meat packing houses and was probably enjoyed by many as polish sausage. Or else he caught a flight in a small Cessna for a midnight skydiving expedition with a lead weighted parachute out over Lake Erie.

Lake Erie is my guess, too. That one isn't going to go dry - and it's only a short boat ride from Detroit.

The Lake Mead corpse is probably some long-forgotten Vegas hood. The NV cops should start by looking at their "snitch" and "informant" lists for one that suddenly stopped calling in.

Not for anyone to think that I'm not a caring person, but after 47 years I simply don't care. It makes for much TV and maybe a network will get Geraldo to open a drum. Hopefully it will be more dramatic that the Capone safe.

Some of Hoffa went to a hog farm, some went down a floor mount commercial garbage disposal. There no traces left.

just my 2 cents I really do not care what happened to him . what is sad way too many good people and kids go missing for no reason at least the story of Jimmy is for the most part know why only not by who

what has surprised me , that some thug (s) death bed they did not confess and tell some story about what happened and where he went and hope for forgiveness . maybe they did confess to a priest but that will never get out either ,

even if they did tell after almost 50 years I doubt any thing is left to be found if there was any thing left as in being burred with in a few days way too many options to completely make his body disappear and they seemed to pick one of the options .

Joe, I hope you aren't implying that you had something to do with it.

I did it. I don't remember the exact location I buried the body.

I can give an approximate location - and drawings with plans - with the specifications for the length, width, and depth of excavation required. I have already notified the utilities of your intent to dig.

Initially it might appear to be the size of the basement under my new house planned for construction. Don't let that fool you.

Additionally, if you can't find the body, it will not be necessary to refill the excavation site.

Please try and have your work completed no later than . . . well just check with City Hall. They know the proposed start date for my permit.

I say, witness protection.....the government can make anyone disappear that has valuable information and they have a desire to live.

That guy was noodling for catfish and got hung up in the barrel.

Any redneck noodler knows that, because it's against the law to use barrels for noodling catfish, so that is why they do such.

Lake Mead is receding and Sin City is awash with mob lore after a second set of human remains emerged within a week from the depths of the drought-stricken Colorado River reservoir just a short drive from the Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas is being flooded with lore about organized crime after a second set of human remains emerged within a week from the depths of a drought-stricken Colorado River reservoir just a 30-minute drive from the notoriously mob-founded Strip.

“There’s no telling what we’ll find in Lake Mead,” former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said Monday. “It’s not a bad place to dump a body."

Goodman, as a lawyer, represented mob figures including the ill-fated Anthony “Tony the Ant” Spilotro before serving three terms as a martini-toting mayor making public appearances with a showgirl on each arm.

He declined to name names about who might turn up in the vast reservoir formed by Hoover Dam between Nevada and Arizona.

“I’m relatively sure it was not Jimmy Hoffa,” he laughed.

The one in the barrel was a murder for sure. The skeletal remains they just found could be just a drowning victim never recovered.

I get sick thinking that all the drinking water used in the southern part of California comes from those waterways!

That old saying in Mexico about not drinking the water should add that area to the list!

Oh, please. How many bazillion tons of fish poop are in that water?

Well Rocky, I bet you wouldn't want your water well downhill from the cemetery.

Well, no (pun intended). But I get my tap water from a city water treatment plant. Which is fed from our local reservoir - that teams with fish and bird life and is surrounded by summer homes with septic systems. Plus several cemeteries.

My county water system is fed from deep wells ,drilled into the upper cape fear aquifer.in eastern nc . Thing is i have a shallow well in the back yard ,16 foot deep that tastes better than the city water

The thing is, there's no such thing as "virgin"water. Every drop on the planet has been piss and swamp water several times.

    Speaking of drinking water.

I know a guy that lives in a rural area and recently listed his place for Sale. (way, way overpriced) Said he is moving closer to town and getting away from dirt roads and ticks.

Got a immediate buyer response and inspections commenced.

    Long story short.

Water well, 200 ft deep on top of a hill.

Water quality test failed due to high E-coli count. Was reported to be very very high count.

Neighbor had no idea their intermittent illness was most likely due to their well water.

At least surface (lake water) for public use is potable water. (properly treated)

If the well is contaminated it means that the well seals are bad and needs to be resealed. Properly sealed ,there should never be a problem . I am a former driller .
