RIP Tony Dow
Everybody knows Wally from Leave it to Beaver. Passed today at age 77.
That makes 3 celebs in the last 2 days. Paul Sorvino, David Warner, and now Tony Dow. All good memories from their work on film and TV for me. Hopefully the old 3 on a match has now gone out!

Hillbille, I'm pretty sure you have seen the movie "Good Fella's" Sorvino was the mob boss that was good in the kitchen making some fine Italian cuisine. He was also a $$$ taking preacher in that old movie "OH God" starring John Denver.

UPDATE: On Tuesday afternoon, Tony Dow’s wife told TMZ that she “believed her husband was dead” and told his management team who announced his passing on his official Facebook account. The wife, Lauren, said as of Tuesday afternoon, he is “still alive and breathing while in hospice care” and she’s “distraught” over the error. The Facebook post has since been taken down.

I am quite disconnected from the news, but I hadn't heard Ray Liotta died. Though I never considered him an A list actor, he was quite good in some of his B roles, and mediocre at best at others. There was something about his eyes though that he could use to make himself seem pure evil.

Lot of child hood memories FROM THE the old TV shows where mom and dad were dressed up 24/7 And nothing like the life most all of us were living

Sorry that I took the media bait on this online death write up.
FAKE news is everywhere!!

It was apparently very hard for any of the young cast members to not be type-cast after the show ended. I met Ken Osmond one evening in Vietnam and he verified that he had forever been not Ken but Eddie Haskell everywhere he went. (He was an army cop then and later became a Los Angeles cop, was shot and wounded three times before retiring on disability.) He was able to not become depressed or an alcoholic, and was always a nice guy in real life. He died in 2020.

Hospice is not for those who are expected to quickly recover.
How nice must it be for Tony to see the outpouring of love he received when people thought he was dead. We almost never get to hear the praises we get at our funerals.

I doubt he is able to appreciate it. To qualify for Hospice you have to be pretty far gone. Both of my folks were on it; my mom for 7 days and dad for 9. My uncle (94) has been on it for over a week now.
It is odd but I just watched a 'Leave It To Beaver' episode this morning. One about Beaver getting a pet monkey. First time I have watched the show in years.

He can't now.

Good wholesome television back then, you could watch it with your mom and dad and no one got embarrassed, no nudity, no foul language and showed the family as a unit. I miss those days.
