Is the magazine spring from a sako model 85 the same as for a model 579?

Thanks, I need the spring for the 579.

  Not likely. The 85s have a removable and the L579 is a fixed box. Take your "need" over to the Sako Collectors Club ( Google it) and ask there. You never know if one of those old boys may have a few parts to spare.
