Nice example. My books say it was made in 1911 or 1912, depending on serial number assignment or polishing room records. Trying to squint these old eyes at my tablet screen to determine if that is a crack on the right side behind the receiver. Otherwise it looks to be in pretty good shape for an old girl and should do really well. I'd be interested but you won't include the chicken.

No. A couple of years ago, she was attacked by a hawk or a buzzard. It picked her up and carried her over the side fence, but I reckon she was too heavy, so the predator dropped her. She had a broken breast bone, a broken left leg, and her back was shredded. There is a place where the tail and back meet that no feathers grow.
When it happened, I thought she was a goner, but Dawnie wouldn't give her up. We kept her in the house for 5 months while she recuperated. Dawnie made a splint for her leg out of Q-Tips and tape.
That's Doris. Doris is very friendly, but she is the boss chicken.

Chickens are darn funny animals. Some days you'd swear they're out to take over the world and the next you wonder how they remember to breathe.
Ricci has a nice 1897 that's doin' real good. Yours has much better wood, David.
