yeah, and how much is he paying for gas 🙃

What is it?

Vette. I bet if the driver kept his foot out the firewall it would surprise you how good the mileage is.

It never ceases to amaze me when I see a $1,000 dollar car with $5,000 of wheels on it parked in the driveway of a $10,000 house.

Never amazes me how folks dislike Corvettes. Was at a Boy Scout car show July 4th and someone speaking loud was putting down the only C8 Corvette at the show. I got up and walked over to them and ask if they have ever owned a Corvette? Crickets. Mine got 32 MPG driving home from the Dale Earnhardt Car show. Who cares what the premium gas costs... ... That so called bubba Corvette is the owners preference. And it is a very nice one. Especially the Jake emblems on the slash marks. If you don't know who Jake is... do a google search. 😃

My Best Guess is the pic is of a 2016-17 Z-06 around 60-70K in valuation. If it were a 2019 ZR-1 being the last yr of front engine she would be worth 150-250K

back in high school I dated a girl who lived in a trailer park. I often chuckled as I drove past the morons living in 5-6k house trailers with a 5-6k car parked out front

Ha Ha Ha.... This moron worked for an Aerospace Shop and made space shuttle / commerical /miltary aircraft parts....making huge money for govt contract work . It was a temp home I sold to the park owner after 9 months. Lot rent 30 bucks..home was 2500... Corvette 8K Priceless... Bought my first stick built home right afterwards.... and who would have thunk I would own a Mobile Home Park later in my life....... 🤣

S-F I remembered seeing that photo from before and was wondering if you would bring it back up... priorities are different for a lot of folks, my tractors and hay equipment were more expensive than the Mobile home that was on my property and we lived in it for about 8 years while I built my steel framed house and eventually sold off the MH.

Got a cousin who went to work for a reclamation company making 46 dollars an hour... first thing he bought was a Harley..32 thousand dollars..but continued to live in a rented mobile home..

Oh, another used car post

to each there own the way I see it
I remember reading many years ago people would like to have newer cars ( or nice fancy cars ) to feel good about them self and project them self to others as they get seen way more in a car on the road than in there house and if it makes them feel special for a little while each day in public who is to blame them . sure may not make sense to have a new car and live in a old house or trailer to some .
but I could understand I grew up around it even my dad would try and buy a new car every 3 or 4 years never nothing flashy just new and we lived a poor life style he reasoning I heard him explain once to friends he had to depend on his car to get him to work and back home every day to take care of the family . the car just improved his odds of working every day . I remember he bought a new 1969 Torino I was 12 yrs old but remember the sticker on the window was just over 3k and change .. being 12 years old I did not really understand a lot of things like family income at the time but I did try hard to get him to buy the 428 4 speed torino next to it 😁
side note many years later I did buy a 428 4 speed fast back 1968 Fairlane the mercury clone of the Torino

My dad used to call that "car rich and house poor"

Cars? Especially the ones produced these days don't interest me much. If it doesn't have 4WD, at least a 6.5' bed, and a trailer hitch, I'm not even looking at it.

S-F, my comment may have been misinterpreted as to this picture in particular. I was making a general statement about the fact that there are a lot of folks (or at least in these parts of Arkansas) that will spend more money on their tires/wheels than the car is worth and close to what their home is worth.

Select, I am not saying anyone above is, but some people automatically dismiss anything they'll never have. Often it is a form of a coping mechanism for things a person will never have.
I say live and let live. And, never judge a book by its cover. There was a now deceased member of this forum from near where I live. He lived in the same modest home since the 80's. Drove newer, but rather mundane pickup trucks. However, the first time Walt invited me into his home and opened up his transferable / Class 3 collection of BAR's, Ma-Duece, M1a1, Colt M16a1, M2, M3, M14, Suomi, and the list goes way on and on. I was dumbfounded. There were safes in room after room. At the time I didn't know the values of some of what I was seeing, but the ones I have remembered I have looked up. He might easily have had a cool mil just in full auto NFA stuff, plus he had suppressors, SBS/SBR's and a lot of military arms from around the world, and he loved HK stuff like the HK 91/94 PSG1. I have a really funny story about him, but unfortunately don't have time to write it all up now, if anyone remembers who I am referring to and wants to hear it, I'll try to remember to check back later.
I've known another person in my life that upon his death I found out had a net worth of over 25 million, yet he drove a 25 year old car he bought used, same house he'd lived in that he bought after college, etc. One just never knows...

bambihunter, You nailed it. Sorry to hear that Walt passed. Too often folks pay attention to everyone else and poke fun of them and their success , when if they didn't.. and concentrated on their own they might be...

I know of several guys that live in small homes or mobile homes, drive old vehicles, keep appliances, lawn mowers ,tractors running forever, haven't had any debt in years, and pay cash for everything they buy. They dont care what others think, but they have lots of money in the bank.

have a neighbor up the road . lives in a rented 14 wide mobile home . drives a 2 year old F150 with all the bells and whistles . Tows a 49 thousand dollar bass boat behind it . Man has to have his priorities in line
