Fresh groceries !
A few hours ago this was hanging in the field . We have done 15 dozen ears to go in the freezer. Nothing like fresh corn in the cob with real butter !

Looks like some kinda vermin has gnawed on one of the ears!

My mom loved corn on the Cobb so much, she would have taken that half eaten ear and gnawed it to the cob.

Started at 10:30 this morning . Shucked , silked ,blanched and packed 15 dozen ears . Finished at 5pm ,.Not bad for 2&1/2" folks . Grand daughter helped during the last 2 hours .

Man that looks good. I love corn on the cob, A LOT !! It's going to be a while before it's ripe up here. Now I can hardly wait. ๐

For most of the growers up here it will last about another two weeks . The guy I get mine from has about 5 to 6 acres every year. He has about 1 to 2 days left on his crop .

I had a dozen ears of corn about Father's Day. One of the supermarket had them on sale for .12 cents a ear. I put on "Secondhand Lions" and went to town. That was fun.

Corn on the cob was the reason that old Christmas song; "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" was written!

were still a few months away from having our own garden grown corn
sorry not taking over just had to add in '
when I was a young kid my dad has his front two teeth missing , mom said they went skating before they were married and he fell down knocked them out and she said he broke down in tears . ( I can understand no insurance and way different times in the mid 1950's no money to have them replaced ) he did get false teeth I would guess when I was around 9 or 10 yrs old but I still remember him saying every year for some time was all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth ,
