That's one. I'm afraid there are a lot more hurdles we're going to have to leap over in the next couple years.

Does this apply nationwide or is this just for NY citizens? I would think nationwide since SCOTUS is the law of the land but I wanted to get some expert opinions on this.

...A kick in the azz for the liberal anti-gun states in a lot of instances (GOOD!)...I love it, I have glorious visions of whiney azz liberals pizzin' and moaning today about the decision.."blood will run in the streets, we're all going to die"...I have little doubt though, that die hard liberal Commiefornia and New York, among other states...will attempt to skirt the high courts decision and trample on the 2A heavy and often...

@Merlinnv12 you are late to the party your discussion was merged in to the previous one and both moved to Gun Rights forum, yes it is of general interest, but it belongs there.

    Should have been 8-0.

The 3 who voted against the 2A are DEMOCRAT partisan operatives who have proven their contempt of our constitution.

Great news for sure maybe theydid read the constitution

However on negative side of this I will bet the left and dems will be screaming to pack the court with more judges in there favor so they can get a new anti gun

I wonder if they (the 3 that voted against) prefer to have themselves protected by a security guard carrying a gun or not be protected at all by a weapon?

Would the news media ask them 3 this question? (or would the news media remain biased and NOT ask this question)

Keith Obermann says to disregard the law, abolish the supreme court and fight for your anti-gun rights?? Like what Old Joe said simply, it's bizarre just like inflation and the budget is. The Left has gone over the edge folks.

    SCOTUS expanded nothing.

The best that can be said for this decision is that it sets a precedent that other states will have take note of. And a big shout out to DJT for his SCOTUS picks!

Kal has already bragging they have figured out a way around it and hope the other states will follow there guidelines

it not about safety its all about control and taking away guns and the chance the Americans will use there firearms to take back the country

It is about control, of course, but taking back a country is not done through or with concealed carry.

It is, IMO, a fundamental superiority complex, primarily on the left, whereby these idiots not only believe they know better than the average person, but have no trust or faith in their fellow man. The left cannot survive if people are self sufficient and believe (rightly) that they, the individual actually knows what is best for themselves. Johnson’s Great Society destroyed to a great degree what was a strong and largely self-sufficient black social structure in this country.

It was done on purpose, as dependency results in malleability. Gun control is the same thing.

Not totally true. In fact NJ AND CA have since removed the reasonable cause part from their ccw permits. This ruling essentially makes all 50 states Shall Issue instead of May Issue. They can still make you take a class and pay fees etc but if they make them excessive they are going to get sued. I am sure some states are going to put restrictions on where you can carry.

ruger41 - I'm sure they'll stall and make folks wait until the next Sheriff gets voted in. I'm sure they won't do the pay to play like the Sheriff from Santa Clara? The she sheriff took "donations" for CCWs. Or was that San Jose?
