Some years ago Texas deregulated the electrical supply market.
Three years ago I re-upped my contract for 8.5 cents per kilowatt-hour (total for energy and delivery charge). Note.......my previous contract was for 7.6 cents.
Next month it's time to cut another "deal".
Well.........things have CHANGED!!!! (Of course......with $112 oil and $8 natural gas. )
Overall......the best deal for me now, for three years, is 15.5 cents per kilowatt-hour. Even I can figure that's an 82% increase...........BUT.......I gotta stay cool 😎.
So........what rates are the brethren looking at????

The only choice I have is with the county co-op not sure of the rate but as hot as we have been this spring my bill is a lot higher than previous years at this time. Wise county, TX.

If I'm reading my bill correctly, for this billing cycle I used 730 kWh @ 8.21 cents per kWh.
It turn out that I was reading it wrong. The TOTAL cost per kWh 12.11 cents.

Being stuck with no choices for my electricity provider, I do not bother to pay attention to the price per K hour.
My bill averages around 150 bucks a month and increases to around 200 bucks during the hot summer months. My houses square footage is 2200 sq. ft.

Electric power companies n Calfornia have announced that rolling blackouts can be expected this summer due to electric power shortages. They don't have enough capacity to serve all the EV and AC requirements at the same time.

During the COVID PANDEMIC I quit paying my electric bill............my 'lecrtricity is still on though..........I don't know nuthin bout kill-o-what hrs............whut is them thangs?
I still got 440V to my welding shed......which I split off half to my motor home.......no charge.

I'm in that kinda situation too with my power company, they have us by the testicles and they know it.

Face it folks. Biden & DEMOCRATs are in control and they are making good on campaign promises: no more new refineries, no coal, no domestic oil, no pipelines to bring us oil, and no nuclear. Green, Green, Green. Get used to paying much more.
As an added bonus inflation and shortages are now commonplace and our economy is entering recession.
PSSST: dont expect media to use the "R" world. Makes Biden and DEMOCRATs look bad in this election year. Media and DEMs rather keep you distracted with the Jan 6

Ameren IL. said the average household this month will pay about 60 more dollars than usual because of the Biden / Prickster EPA regulations making electric cost over double. Loving that green new deal. Exposed but nobody in the crooked media will say a word against a Dimrat and the new deal.

Brandon says get solar panels and windmills.
AND when pumping fuel at the gas station wear a mask and place it over your eyes so you cannot see the fuel pump registering the price so as to reduce the chance of heart racing and sticker shock.
AND for you people that voted for Brandon:
Do not forget to take the mask from over your eyes before driving off.

I was on C.A.R.E. some PG&E discount scheme but when I re-did the paper work I was kicked off for making too much money or some other thing. Living a mile (as a crow flies) from the ocean I get by on a few box fans when I'm occupying the room. I suppose I'll have a few rolling black outs to look forward to. At least i shouldn't have any power shut offs due to high winds like L.A.'s Santa Anna Winds.

Sorry.......I guess I should have led off with the source of the different "plans".
For Texas folks.......go to: powertochoose.org . It is the State of Texas website, showing all plans available. Just plug in your zip code. For my zip code, in Wichita Co., there are currently 107 different plans available. You can pick/choose options........BUT.....be VERY careful to read ALL the fine print. For example.......be sure "their" advertised price per kilowatt-hour includes BOTH the Energy Charge AND the Delivery Charge. (Note: TU Electric does NOT do that).
I'm not familiar with Co-Op rate structures.......could you enlighten me/us?
