Like evryone else I have been having a hard time finding the reloading supplies I needed.
I mentioned this to a friend at Church & he said his Dad used to do alot of reloading before he passed away. He asked what I was lokking for, and I told him Red Dot gun powder for reloading my shot shells, and 209 primers.
So, he blessed me with a unopened 15 lb canister of Red Dot, several hundred primers, and an unopended 250 rnds box of Remington 230grain 45 acp.
All he wanted in exchange was for me to do some leather work for him. Consider it done friend.

Considering today's prices you hit the motherload! I was checking the other day for Varget and found a listing for 5 lbs for around $450! Needless to say I didn't buy it. Regular primers and 209s are just stupid high so I haven't bought any of them either. It has been a year since I have loaded anything and it doesn't look like I am going to do any soon. Bob

Same here.
What little powder and primers I have I'm saving for hard times and make every bullet count to put meat on the table. I seen a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel awhile back but it went dark again. Might have to start hunting with traps, a club/spear and a pellet gun.

I have reloaded 13 cases of shotshells in the past couple months. 5 of 16 gauge and 6 of 12 gauge.
Just picked up 5 bags of 7 1/2 shot at $50 a bag which is a bargain today.
Also hot the jackpot on powder and primers a few weeks ago after not being able to buy any at all for months.
So I am set for now but not reloading anything.
And not a hoarder, this will all get shot up in sporting clays.

Jason, just out of curiosity, what does it cost you at today's prices to load a box of 12 or 16ga target loads? My casual figuring comes out to a little over 8 bucks a box. I can get 12 or 20ga federal for about that when Wal-Mart has them in stock. 16ga however would definitely be a good savings. Bob

It varies widely depending on where and when i can find components. The least is $8 a box and highest is $11 a box. It costs me the same to load a 16ga or a 12ga shell. Bags of shot are $75 at Cabelas's and I won't pay it. So when my current supply is gone I might be done

It is not less money to reload anymore but it is a better hobby than sitting on a barstool.

Yeah, back before I retired, sitting in front of my Dillon 900 cranking out flat after flat of target loads was great therapy. $75 a bag for shot is ridiculous. I stopped loading when it was $40 a bag. Under the loading bench are a few bags of 7.5's that I paid about 9 bucks for 20 years ago. Your range is doing well selling shells for $8 a box. Even buying in fairly large quantities wholesale my club has to sell them for $10 just to break even. I just got 20 flats of Winchester Dove & Clay for our fall charity shoot and consider myself lucky at $8.50/box. Bob
