Leo Beniditte

I have a rifle that I bought at a local auction about 20 years ago and it has this name written in pencil in the barrel channel. The rifle is kind of a specialised outfit probably made in the 1960 +/- era and very well done. It's built on a byf 43 98 Mauser action and chambered in .228 Ackley Magnum. It has a Lyman Alaskan with a Litschert Varmint Master power booster in an Ackley adjustable mount.

The Ackley stuff makes me wonder if it was made in Ackley's shop but there are no marks on the rifle that would probably be there if it was made there.

Leo is probably the original owner of the rifle but I am hoping he was the maker.

Anybody heard of Leo?
