Bullet Proof Clipboard
My son works for a Large School corporation. 10 years now.
His main School has main door locked down, and buzzer to get to second door, also locked. All Doors to Class rooms cam be locked with a command from several administrators and by Class room teachers.
5 years ago I made him a Level 3A bulletproof Clip Board Legal size.
1st year it sat a home. 2nd year in the car, Last few years on his desk or the rounds of the 4 Schools with him. He is a Social Worker and sees it all.
Clipboard not much but at least he has it, and man is it heavy.
Next year he is moving up to another School and a 5th grade councilor position (400 students) and will have his handy 4 lb Clipboard with him.
Moved to Louisville. He and his new Wife (3 months) are enrolling in some self-defense classes.
No Firearms. He still hates Guns (but knows how to use one). He has a Baseball bat by the door at home.

Well, it's a start. Don't know how to hold a clipboard with a 5.56 hitting it but it is something. The social structure in schools with the tech kids use is a lot of the problem for developing minds. IMO-

I think bulletproof clipboards are unnecessary and only serve to invite further violence, especially the heavy "assault clipboards" that can deflect more than ten rounds and have a picatinny rail for attaching a pen and small flashlight.

It does have a place for a Pen, and Flash light. Flash light is a Stream Lite Pro Tac 500 Lumens. Strobe, will knock you silly.

Hope he never takes that baseball bat to agl gun fight! Why does he HATE guns? Just curious.
Also, locked doors with a buzzer does NOTHING if you wedge a rock in the door frame.
ALL security measures can be foiled by ONE ignorant person.

There's a company that makes ballistics clip boards, white boards and back packs. You might wanna give him some $2 rubber door wedges so they can't force their way in for his classws.

School has these metal tabs that drop down in place, and keeps the door from opening. Not sure of the name of the company.

"Metal tabs that drop down in place"? Never seen that. But, I have had to order the removal of a bunch of unapproved "safety" gadgets & lock sets that did not meet regulations. (That is, with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) or written permission from the local Authority Having Jurisdiction.)

and ignorant politicians are trying to figure out how to defend against such.
I've noticed very few mass shooting take place at gun shows.
Seems the politicians (law makers) do not know why or even have a clue.
