Apparently you haven't seen the price of chicken.

Been know to eat a bowl of corn flakes, rice krispies, and or cheerios for supper. Note, never mixed🙃

Even a good bowl of slow cooked Quaker old fashion oatmeal goes good.

there were times I had saltine crackers in a bowl with very diluted powdered milk poured over it.

It's been a while since I had cereal. Used to buy Peanut Butter Capn' Crunch and Mickey's 40 ouncer at Safeway when soccer moms were side eyeing me like I was a degenerate at 08"30 in the morning. Oh yes that is good stuff together.

American version of Top Ramen before Top Ramen was a thing or were you out in the bush?

Years ago, my wife introduced me to a homemade night time snack using plain Cheerio's cooked on the stove to melt in some butter, grated parmesan cheese, a dab of garlic powder, and a dab of salt.

I still have this on occasion. YUM!

We don't 'buy chicken'.(or beef or pay retail for pork).

Every year I fill 3 freezers with venison. Grouch Attack retired from the local pork processing plant but still has employee discount privileges so we don't pay meat counter prices for pork products either.

Cereal is a good evening meal. It's easy to digest and with the right kind of cereal, fairly nutritious. Not with chocolate sugar bombs, of course. Plain Cheerios, Chex, and Raisin Bran are good choices. I do like to mix brands, and like Cheerios and Chex especially. I also sprinkle a scoop of Grape Nuts in for an added source of fiber. Top it all with a handful of blueberries.

One must be careful with raisin bran for an evening meal or any other time😁
