Winchester 42 question
Hi!
I’m considering purchasing a model 42. Everything looks correct to me except the barrel stamping is light. Was this just a normal variation of how they were stamped? I only have a couple of pics…

I have several 42's and all of them have more distinct stampings that that. Then again it could just be the quality of the picture making it seem that way to me. Fun guns and if the price is right, I say go for it but I might just be a little bit prejudiced about 42's. Bob

Could have been toted a lot, looks like it could be point of balance and the ole big fumb could have left its mark.

Or the lettering was polished off with a reblue....

Very easily could have had a redo. Wood at receiver don't look like it should. Rounded off a bit.
