Gun Smith needed near Ocala, Fl
A friend carries her now deceased father's Det. Spl. Problem 1 is that she hid it under her car's floor mat & it got wet & rusted. Bigger problem is that she let her friend "Bubba" clean it up for her. Biggest problem is that he returned it to her to use, even though the cylinder stop doesn't pop up.
So, does any one know a decent smith in the Ocala area that can work on Colt actions? Maybe even do something with the finish. Thanks, Al

A W Peterson Gun Shop in Mt. Dora, FL is another place to try. Not many places left that will work on Revolvers anymore there is also Shooters World up there that has a gunsmith

Not sure on a smith, but would highly recommend Ford's for the refinishing work.

I second the “fords” recommendation. I’ve had several looked at by fords over the years. Best there is in southeast US.
