Winning entry in the Kooskia Idaho parade
My buddy Dan won 1st place out of 45 entries, guess he was even playing wolf howls while on the parade route.
I think it’s pretty cool.

No need for that anymore in Idaho
“the Idaho Fish and Game Commission voted to increase the maximum number of wolf tags an individual can purchase to 15 hunting tags and 15 trapping tags for the 2020-21 season. The changes to the allowable tag numbers for wolves applies statewide, simplifying the wolf hunting and trapping seasons and rules”
The available tags have steadily increased over the last few years, besides if you belong to The Foundation for Wildlife Management

F4WM brings those who want wolves managed- State Game management agencies, outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, and ranchers, together with those who have the ways and means to get the job done!one can be reimbursed $500 per wolf statewide and $750 to $1000 in select areas.
Of the three wolves in the pictures, two were $1000 and one was a $750.

Nice!
I always wanted to hunt one but when I was in the NW it wasn't allowed. I only saw one once in WA while out coyote hunting. I thought it was a coyote at first but it was a long way off. But the way it moved led me to think it was probably a wolf.
I wouldn't think they are all that tough to kill, like a coyote or a cougar. I think a 25-06 would be a good wolf medicine or maybe one of the new creedmore's.
That is a cool mount. I wouldn't last long in my house I am sure my dogs would chew it up like they did my duck mounts.

They go down easy enough. A 22 lr is fine for them. But they can be pretty difficult to find. They are very wary and smart.
