Please can someone educate me the difference visually between a DISC EXTREME & a DISC?

are there distinguishing marks that I should be looking for?

  Different discs, 209 holder, and they are not interchangeable. The original disc used a flat orange holder with a tab that protruded from the action so you could pluck it out with your fingers. The original did not use a nipple. The Disc extreme uses a red conical 209 primer holder that fits over a nipple. The bolt on the extreme will pull the disc off of the nipple for extraction. Both worked well but I think the extreme sealed the action a little better so keeps the action cleaner. Also the extreme works better with cold stiff fingers when hunting. Bob
