Sold the Camaro......took a little loss, but I'm happy with what I got out of it.
I had gone over a year without driving it. Every time I got in it there was "a thing" to deal with. These things are really for people that can work on them....or people that have endless funds to pay people to fix things. It was a LOT of fun to have and I'm really glad I did get the chance to have a "fun to own" car for some portion of my life.
I suggest everyone get one for a bit if you have the chance. If you do, be ready to talk to every person you meet while you are in it! (That was the best part for me.)
I sold it for $29,000....which is in the ballpark of what I expect it was worth. The person I sold it to is a reseller and he will do a few things to it and flip it. Of course, I got stuck behind someone driving a convertible 69 Camaro yesterday. His was a gorgeous black one, the shocks were shot because every bump he hit you could see him bouncing a few extra times and he was driving with his right blinker on the entire time I was behind him.....but still, beautiful to see.
I'll miss it....but I don't regret letting it go.

I had a 76 corvette for a few years. Things started breaking on it and I’m not really a car guy. One day the breaks went out. The shop fixed it but said it needed major work and the repair they did wouldn’t last. I drove it from the shop right to a car dealer and traded it in. I took a loss but I’m glad I had it a few years.

I still have my '69 Firebird conv't. I bought it around '75 and it has about 65K miles on it.

Sold my Chevelle in May. Pretty much the same story, but I never liked the way it handled.
Bought an 08 Mustang GT with a 5 speed the same day, and love it!

I think you made the right choice, just a expensive toy you do not get to play with any more , I am sure you will miss it on those nice days when you were just out for a drive or car cruse in .
I think older cars are great . I have two 69 Camaros ) and enjoy working tinkering with them almost as much as driving
but when we get a bit older , creature comfort really come into play .

I had a 66 GTO in that same yellow Kasey. lmop. 67-68-69 were the very best Camaros

Back in the day, I lusted for a '68 or so Firebird. Never did own a muscle car, though.

My wife had a yellow convertible exactly like that one when we met. I also had a 66 GTO that was yellow, it was called "Butternut Yellow", my favorite car of all time.

I had a ball driving it around, but every year that passes it was less and less until this past year when I didn't drive it one time and every time I thought about it the idea was less and less favorable. I did LOVE the car, but I'm unable to work on it, so every time I turned around I was paying for something to be done. The last thing was mouse related....they chewed up some of the wires to the carb. and the battery was dead.
Unless you can store these things properly its a constant chore to keep things going.....my brother's garage was perfect, but it was a 45 minute drive to get there. I might have another car in the future....maybe. Right now I'm just too busy to have a hobby that needs any constant attention. I'm surprised my plants are alive right now.

that is sorta my feelings on convertibles in general. great on occasions but I can't take sitting in the sun for long drives.....

That was a pretty car I remember you talking about it when you got it; usually asking if anyone knew how much it would cost to fix this or that. I assume your husband is not a mechanic.

No, neither of us are mechanically inclined. Larry can build whatever you want, wire it up, and can tell you about all kinds of historical figures....he is amazing, but if its an engine its a mystery.
I'm glad I let it go when I did....this fall weather would have definately made me keep it another year. This morning is the perfect weather to drive that car around.
