I can see the serial number being important if it would make a difference between certain years or models. And shipping to a certain FFL might make it easier for the buyer, but your DL number has nothing to do with it. If you are an individual, all the receiving FFL needs is your name and address. When I send a copy of my DL, I always black out everything except my name and address.

DL or state ID is needed by the receiving FFL, buyers choose the receiving FFL when they win the gun, serial number will also be written in their book, I have purchased on GB from non FFL sellers and my FFL requested a copy of the sellers DL. in a face to face sell I have taken a picture of the sellers DL and they mine, but if you are selling on GB it is the FFL that needs your DL not the buyer... most sellers have SN in pictures although some black out the last few digits or the 1st few depending on mfg of the firearms dating scheme.

My receiving ffl requires a DL from a non ffl before he will receive the firearm

from what I understand it IS NOT law that the receiving FFL needs a copy of your DL, it's just they want it type deal , by law all they need is your name and address , IF this in NOT correct some one please post the ATF rule/law that states other wise

As far as I know this is fact. They can get your info off the return address of the package the firearm arrived in.

Ask them to send theirs first.

If their DL is from like Afganistan I would be skeptical.

Send them a message telling them it ain't gonna happen, and if they still want the item, to send the $$$ or forget it.

Nope.....I'm keeping all the boxes as a retirement plan at this point....a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

the person kept on sending me screenshots of errors that were preventing him from bidding so this is why he was asking me all these questions. I sent the screen shots to GB & asked if there was a problem & they said "these error messages were NOT generated from GB". They were not generated from whist using GB....I guess I will block him & move on have got better things to do than play games with him

Are you sure that's the correct pronoun, Todd?

My FFL won't transfer to me from private seller without. I tell private sellers to include to copy in the box with the gun, or if they prefer they can send email/fax to FFL directly. Or, they can ship from FFL.

I've done business with this FFL for around 30 years now after being introduced by the late Walt (Imaclone2). He still charges me $10 even though for the past few years I've been getting inexplicable holds on many of my transfers. He also will throw my more expensive toys in the vault if I ask as well.

Me as a seller, if someone requested me to send them my D/L... I send it in the box with the firearm to the requested FFL where I'm going to be sending the gun to. I always do EZ check anyway, so I verify that. If they insist on sending it in advance which has only been once, I send it to FFL and the seller has to contact them. Thankfully, when I started on GB, there wasn't as much scamming going on and though I didn't buy a lot, it was enough back then to build a solid reputation for the amount of transactions I did have and hasn't been any hassle for quite some time.
