Looks like the credit card companies are making their move to control gun sales and track purchasers of guns.

Visa caved to the demands of NY Democrats and gun control groups and will recategorize gun purchases in a way that allows them to be flagged.

  Disturbing and disappointing but I doubt Visa's decision changes anything. Visa loves money. Guns stores give them a lot of money. If Visa attempts to enforce this decision, they leave the door wide open for a brand new group to process firearm purchases leaving Visa out of the money loop.

  And, Look for the class action suit to be announced the first time a minority group gets denied a purchase. Best of luck with that publicity, Visa.

  If you use anything but cash the Gubmint and all financial institutions already know what you bought. It is not like the SKU used to record the sale is secret or anything. As a matter of fact even if you use cash the stores have video of what you bought an how you paid for it.

  I used to have a couple of VISA cards but the merchants that had their names on the cards changed over to MasterCard some years ago. Go figure!
