Do we know what caused this event?

The thread is in chronological order.

Go to page 3, mid way down. @B17-P51

I was thinking of a Toast to Mr. C's remembrance but it might be too bawdy for this group.

Mark C. - May he be surrounded by beautiful European Women, fine bottles of single malt scotch, and M1 Garands.

Mark was a wealth of knowledge, He responded to my email to him about my NM 6million plus serial# Garand with sure just send me as many photos as you can of the entire rifle, together and apart, he came back with a full page of enlightenment, many insightful remarks and was just a great fellow to correspond with.

I think of him when ever anything Garand comes up, or when just glancing at or handling mine.

He sure made a great impression on me, one that I will never forget.

I just now learned of this. Truly shocking. I was fortunate enough to have Mark stop by my place on one of his road trips. The subject of guns is not the only one of which he had knowledge in-depth; we spent a pleasant day talking about philosophy and history, as well. A very intelligent, cultured, kind spirit who has passed way too soon. RIP, my friend.

Indeed he was a very well rounded and knowledgeable man. He is sincerely and severely missed.

Haven't logged in here for a long while, and today figured I would visit briefly. I REALLY hated to see this thread is all I can say.

RIP Mark, and comfort to family members and loved ones over this terrible loss.

I remember him from year's ago, was humorous and always liked his posts. Very Sad to hear his passing.

When I saw this I felt like I was kicked in the guts, Mark and I had a very good relationship. In one exchange between us, he commented "I wish we had a lot more members like you on here".

Have not been on the boards much this past year.

This is sad news. Mark was one of the first guys to help out the then "young kid" about how to get the most of his M-1 rifle.

The world is lesser place with less guys like him.

Sad news. I'm fortunate enough to have purchased one of Mark's Garand's a decade ago. His knowledge and stories were a major reason I wanted one from him.

    RIP

It's been a while since I was on the forums.

Hearing of Mark's passing is sad news for sure.

IMHO... Mark was honest and fair, especially when it came to administrating the forums.

    RIP Mark

Mark checked in on the forums for what turned out to be the last time.

Five days later he was pronounced deceased.

    Still missed. RIP Mark.

A sad day for sure. Mark was one of perhaps 4 members that I met in person. We talked quite a bid about bikes and Europe travels. R.I.P. my friend.

    RIP Mark.

I only ever talked to him via the forums but I always liked the guy. He's truly missed and I'll keep in mind all the funny and useful things he did here.

And he wielded the ban hammer with the skill of Thor. Some of his banishments were epic! 😂
