After market mag questions.
There are several mags I would like to buy but the cost of buying factory mags is often getting a little out there. I've bought after market mags before with mixed results. I've bought some mags that turned a smooth running pistol into a "jam-o-matic". Other after market mags I bought ran every bit as good as factory mags. I haven't done any after market mags in quite a while so I'm wondering which brands to jump all over and which brands to steer clear of.
I'm thinking about two extra mags for three or four of my pistols so saving some money times six or eight might be a pretty big savings. The problem is that mags that don't function aren't much of a savings.
I'm figuring the GB crowd can put me on the right path. Thanks all!!

Mec Gar is usually good. They make a ton of factory mags as well.

Well you asked, other than an AR-15 I get factory magazines only. Don't care if the price is on the high end, the weakest link to any semi auto is the magazine and why bother with anything else and yes, I have tried after market and was never satisfied. IMO only.

What the others have said about Mec-Gar, and them already making many of the factory magazines. I have numerous Mec-Gar magazines, and all function well.

Whatever you do, don't use ProMags! Jam-o-matics! I bought 3 different PMs, and all of them failed me. I sledge hammered them after the company refused to warranty them so no one else would be disappointed.

If you have Glock pistols, Magpul magazines work great.....and another vote for Mec-Gar in other firearms...

Mec Gar does indeed make a pile of the factory mags under the OEM name. If you need to go aftermarket, go Mec Gar.
