Howdy folks.
Stopping to say hi and let you know we're still alive, LOL. Our son took two months off and traveled the united states, to see as many of the state parks as he could. He started in Northern California, in the red wood forest. He went to Utah, Arizona, North and South Dakoda, Nevada, Minnesota, Michigan, Texas, New Mexico and a few other places. He camped in a tent along the way, staying in hotels about once a week. He even camped at Area 51!!!! Chris arrived home last Friday to see us, then took back off to Chattanooga Tennessee, Helen Georgia and Alabama. He should be returning this week for my birthday, then back to work. This was a once in a lifetime trip, that he saved for since he was in his early teens. His next trip is going to be across Europe. He really enjoys history, state parks and hiking.
As for Donna and I, we are all doing very well. I'm starting to think about either retiring, or scaling back on work. Starting to really feel it in my bones now. We have been seriously considering our next move to Alabama , Tennessee, or Georgia. It truly is a very hard decision to make. We love all three states and the people that live there. I love Alabama and Tennessee, and she really loves Georgia the most, but would consider the other two states. Either way, we cannot wait to leave communist NJ.

@Oakie , we escaped New Germany years ago 😁. Take trips to check out the different areas in states. The climate varies greatly within any state. So does the weather, which is also very important.

Glad to hear you're still alive and still have Donna.
I'm planning on selling out here in GA and moving back home to Knoxville, TN if I can ever get the will power up to clean my wife's closets out and other things of her's after she passed away last year so I can sell the house. Right now I can't touch her stuff it's still lying where she used it last and it's really hard to get motivated to do anything anymore.
If some thieves would break in and steal everything I own they'd be doing me a favor. I could leave all the doors open and lights on and put up flashing neon signs to enter here and take what you want and nothing would ever happen if I were wanting it to happen.

Retire while you're still young/healthy enough to enjoy yourself, my friend. I don't think many folks ever lay on their death bed and wished they could have worked more.

I was just thinking about you a few days ago. I was hoping the lack of posts wasn't because of a health problem. So I'm pleased you and yours are AOK!
My take on retirement. This advice is worth every penny you paid for it!! I'm 75. I work around 15 to 18 hours every week, M-T-W. I enjoy working these short hours and I enjoy working around young people. It is kind of like physical therapy for me. When I don't enjoy going to work I'll quit.
If it was me and I could scale back, that is where I would start. After 6 months have a talk with the boss (Donna) and decide the next step.

Oh heck yeah. I just bought a 25-06 and 257 Roberts in 700 BDL. Love those rifles as much as my Winchester model 88's

I want to retire and just find a job at a golf course, a couple days a week. I love to gold and tinker with stuff, so I was thinking of trying to find a job working on golf cart. I'm even willing to work for rounds of golf. I don't think I will ever truly retire 100%. I'm too fidgety. I have to always be doing something and keeping the grey brain cells working.
