    Why would you want to xx the serial number. That's silly.

    It seems you have a Remington Model 11 Sportsman, made around 1950. The stock set came from a Savage model 755 or 775 and replaced the Remington wood. I cannot tell you why the trigger group is set farther back than normal, as examples of the Browning A5, the Savage 755 all have similar trigger groups to the regular Remington Model 11.

    The B following the serial# appears to be non-factory.No images of the V-shaped fit of metal and wood above the trigger have turned up on an internet search of Savage and Remington .Both the stock and the receiver were modified to make this fit.
