Windsor or Cleveland ???

Either one, but Clevelands are pretty scarce any more. The Windsor is a bit lighter, and lots more parts available in today's world. Real easy to stroke a Windsor to 410 CID or even 427 CID today.Imagine that, a small block 427.....

Had a 351 Cleveland in my 51'Ford Pickup.

one of my wish I still had it 71 Mach 1 351 Clevland 4 speed , white with blacked out hood and stripes Cragar's headers bigger cam all the normal goodies . not the fastest car I have owned but respectable and sharp looking
with the fast back style and a rear seat that laid flat making one big open area from the back of the front seats all the way thru the trunk sure was a great drive-in car also 😎 😍

I just picked up a 351 that had been bored .060 over --- in 1988. Been sitting abandoned at a machine shop with a full set of six new pistons and full set of bearings.
Yep --six. It's a GMC Big Block V-6 ;)

Had one same color and yr as this one... 1965 Ford Custom Police Interceptor P code. Originally came with a 390 3 duece engine but county replaced it with a 427 FE. A retired county officer had it in next to his barn in a hog lot. He brought it over to my house one morning and gave it to me. I got it running but it needed so much...floorboards, trunk floor.. I never got around to it and listed it on fleabay. It went to St. Louis Mo. for restoration. I took the money I had invested in it and bought him a large Browning gun safe and delivered it... ( when he wasn't home to his back porch ).

In HS all the Ford guys would take their 289s and replace them with 351 Cleveland. I had a LTD station wagon with a Cleveland I bought just for that engine to put in to a 67 Mustang, but never got around to doing it...

The last new car my dad bought was a 65 Ford Galaxy,bright red with a 390.It was a pretty good car and fast.I have a Ford curse.The only dependable Ford I owned was a 1950 Ford pick up with a flathead V-8.

A Cleveland with the right heads on it was NASCAR ready right of the showroom floor.....I had one that I was clocked at 154 mph and was told it hadn't topped out then, it was still climbing 😀. If you hit a rabbit crossing the road at those speeds you were DRT 😟

I crewed a gentleman that use to race part time in NASCAR. His dirt track car had one and it done well .

When I bought my 68 Bronco in 1970 it came with a 289 and 3 on the tree. After a few trips in the woods, I realized that the 289 wasn’t going to cut it. No low end torque. When lugged down and trying to pull out of a mud hole it would darn near die. A buddy of mine had a 67 Cougar with a 351 so one weekend I took his car for a “tune-up”. Did an engine swap and returned the car to him. All with his approval as it was his wife’s car. She never knew the difference and never found out but that engine was the cat’s meow! Still have the Bronco and it still has a 351 coupled to a top loader 4 speed. The 351 has about ¾” more stroke than the 289 and delivers a better low end torque.

That's 'cause nobody cares about those. They rank right up there with small block Chevys. Good for marine applications, but not necessarily the power plant.🤣

when I was a young fellow a group of guys a few yrs older one owned a Pantera I would see it around town and a few times at the grocery store I worked at
the guys I am buddys with told me stories of the fellow and his car having rat races with the local PD this was around 1973 /74 give or take . the guys I still see at car shows told me the stories 20 some odd yrs later
My first four cars all ford's 3 mustangs and a 68 mercury 428 4 speed there version of ford's torino
Then bought my first camaro a 69 ss with a big block Chevy this was about 1976 still have it but went thru a few motors over time wish I kept the original
But such is life .but also became a bb Chevy fan
