Parts should be nice and straight. Get rid of the bent up parts.

For best operation make sure you really coat all moving internal parts liberally with WD40.

You can never have too many parts. My machine shop foreman use to say " bring the parts to me in a basket, no problem. Tell me how to put them back together, it will cost you twice as much" ---------------------------Ray

I have on many occasions. I can tear a S&W revolver down and put it back together in my sleep. Rugers are pretty easy as well. The Redhawk is a little bit harder than a GP100 or Sp101 but neither one is hard. The older Colt revolvers look like Colt crammed all of the parts they could find in there. That's why the double actions suck so badly, and action work is a lot more costly than S&W or Ruger. If you want to have some fun, take apart a NAA mini revolver.

I have owned a High Standard Double Nine revolver for a few years and have never even attempted to completely dismantle it. It always shoots well and is cleaned and lubed in its mostly all together state.

first one I had was a 5 1/2" stainless in 41 mag , back around 1987 give or take a year or so , paid some thing like $225 for it on sale , later on a buddy just had to have it so it went down the road,
