I am sad
I just got home from the airport..........dropped off my 18 yo daughter who has decided to move back to Mexico.
She has been here with me for the last 3 "pandemic years".........working 3 jobs at a time. She saved her money and bought land in a master planned beach community in Merida.
Now she is off to start her own journey.........living in Guadalajara and studying for a business degree while she has her beach house built. She will most likely use it as an Air B&B. The start of her own real estate holdings.
She has a plan and has her stuff together..........I'm proud but sad at the moment.

I am 95% certain that I will join her there at some point in the future........but what to do with certain things that I can't take to Mexico? Cash out or store in the US.

It is wonderful to see that they have learned enough about life to survive and even prosper, but still sad to see them go. You should proud.

I have been to Merida many times, on trips to Chichen Itza and Isla Mujeres. Merida is a pretty place.
By the way Merida was ground zero for the meteor that hit 66 million years ago and wiped out the dinosaurs.

Parting with your kids going far away is always very sorrowful. Just stay close using modern tech and look forward to the future travel she has opened up to you!

Hurricane Roslyn grew into a major Category 4 storm on Saturday as it headed for a collision with Mexico's Pacific coast, likely north of the resort of Puerto Vallarta.
Roslyn's maximum sustained winds reached 130 mph early Saturday, and it is expected to strengthen further, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. The storm was centered about 170 miles south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes — the point of land jutting into the Pacific south of Puerto Vallarta — and moving north-northwest at 8 mph.
"On the forecast track, the center of Roslyn will move parallel to the southwestern coast of Mexico through midday today, then approach the coast of west-central Mexico, likely making landfall along the coast of the Mexican state of Nayarit Sunday morning," the hurricane center said early Saturday.

Merida is a bit inland on the Yucatan, and hurricanes often hit north of the Yucatan, but no guarantees. Mexico, it is all about the food.

Sounds like you have quite a young lady there mokawk600. Few 18 year olds have that kind of ambition.
