Never heard of Als either. Looks like a typical SG store though:

Als.com | Every Sport. Every Season.
Gear & Clothing for every outdoor adventure. Find the best products at the best prices with our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Bows but no firearms, leastaways... not on their website.

    my thought too

I would hope that being somewhat from "the area" they would know the market, and it may increase their buying power.

Well that's some news. A couple years ago, when I was in God's country, I asked a fella if Bob Wards was still in business. He said he didn't know. Been years since I was in Missoula, so I did not know either. I have a S&W K22 Masterpiece, and a Winchester model 63 that my father bought at Bob Wards in the 1950s. I have a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt. that I bought when I was 16 yo. at Bob Wards.

Great choice in guns Randy, I see that the good taste has been passed on...

sounds like a deal Wards couldn't turn down. i just wonder how long they can remain in that decrepit shopping mall in missoula. the cabelas store hurt em' simply because of ease of access..

Well, with Cabelas quality going the way of Walmart, they may have a hope, if they carry quality gear.

Wards had a great community involvement here, better than the Sportsman's warehouse which was in better location. products was top quality at both, Wards perhaps better western Montana suited. just located in a dieing mall, that had already lost a JCPenny's and a big time Sears that did everything. along comes Cabela's situated in a convenient strip mall along the major commerce corridor. only recently has quality begun to show BassPro shop influence. neither had the history of community that Wards has had for 100 years. if the press articles are to be believed, i see much benefit for Wards if nothing else greater purchasing power of the 2stores combined plus retaining the big sky flavor. will pick up idaho business for sure to the Hamilton store.
