USPS services

While I am not happy with the increase, I can understand the need for it. For example, I am old enough to remember when stamps were around .05 and gas was less than .25/gal. Now gas is 14x higher so the price of postage must keep up with the costs to deliver it. The costs of replacing their aging fleet of postal vehicles has also risen dramatically. For those that use the services of the USPS, the term TANSTAAFL applies. Bob

Edited to add; Every time you buy a stamp it helps to pay the 100,000 or so military vets and vets family members that work for the USPS. In my opinion, that's a good thing.

Another boondoggle program for The Socialist and unions to squeeze out more vote buying for The politicians.

The USPS delivery system is the worst it's ever been. Bailout by the government continuously over they years, Used & formed by the government for diplomatic/bussiness pouches between government/corporate entities to insure secrecy to begin with in my opinion.

Yes, my wife does all the bill paying online. Rarely do we use stamps.

I still do pretty much all of my bill paying by mail. What I have been doing differently for the past 7 or 8 years is that my spending is all done by credit card, including utility payments. Only have to write and send out a couple checks a month.

I buy stamps in rolls of 100 and will pick up a couple rolls soon before the increase. Should get by for a few years on that!

That is what we do for personal and our business. The only problem is the banks are not even mailing the payments anymore. The bank has agreements with most large companies to send an echeck which clears faster than a mailed checked.

Does this mean it will cost more to fill my mailbox with junk?

Yes. So that firestarter they deliver to you is worth more.

So once again I will pay more to send a letter or pay a bill. But, my mailbox will continue to be filled with 95% total junk that goes directly to the trash or recycle bin. The USPS is becoming nothing but an advertising delivery service.

If they didn't deliver all the junk mail a stamp would cost $ 5.00

Well ,,,,, they gotta pay for the daily USPS TV commercials ,,,,,, ‘I’ve been everywhere man’ , that run numerous times a day, and probably cost millions on an annual basis.

They must think we don’t know that the post office is still ‘there’ ,,,,,,,
