Not sure about this hunt, nor Alaska hunts......but MOST moose hunts are by random lottery. I've seen hunts on TV where people tried and failed to get picked, took them 20+ years to draw a tag! 🤯

I worked on a ranch where we had a saw that was dedicated to quartering elk and beef. It never had bar oil put in it, just vegetable oil.

I was wondering what Larry in BC used for bar oil when quartering a moose. I was thinking you could do it with no bar oil, lots of juice and fat on that big animal.

Honestly, that was my first thought too, but I think using vegetable oil makes sense too. BTW not a lot of fat on those animals.
