I Want One - Savage 110 PCS Bolt.
Always wanted a Remington XP100. (Never got one.) A magazine I just came across, (Ballistic) [Great magazine by the way.] Just featured an article/review called "The Incredible Shrinking Bolt Gun." Made by Savage, based on the 110 Action. (PCS stands for "Pistol Chassis System.)
It's like a more modern/upgraded XP100. (6.5 Creedmoor) 10.5" barrel, fluted bolt, the Accutrigger, 10+1 removable magazine, 5.6lbs, Aluminum stock, free floated barrel, 21.5" overall. The review had it scoped and with a tripod. 1" group, (off a rest) at 100 yards with Hornady Match 140 gr. ELD ammunition.
Suggested MSRP "$999." (Wonder what you could actually get one for?)

I only wish it came in other calibers. I'd like one in .270 to match my Savage 110, (full size,) wood stocked, very nice hand cut checkering with a Cabela's "Caliber Specific," .270 scope with a BDC duplex reticle. (I had points to spend with Cabela's, to pay for the scope.)
Maybe the 6.5 Creedmoor is superior from the shorter barrel? (IDK)
Although I had sworn abstinence, I REALLY want one. I spent roughly $2K+ on two very nice firearms for my B-day, this past July. I've been extremely frugal and decided to treat myself. (And) I did. Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 with a Sig Sauer Whiskey 3 scope, Hellfire duplex reticle and a Henry Steel Side Gate Carbine in .44mag. (Fair amount of ammunition for both.)

That would be a great setup for deer out to 500 yd. All anyone really needs. I love the compact. You can add a side folder. Would make a great back pack rig

. 270 is a good round. Several ladies and youth use the .270 for elk up here. Granted they practice and become proficient with their rifle and do their part, the round does it's part.

About what I thought on the price. (Thanks) Also good to hear on the other calibers offered. The magazine article in "ballistic" only listed the 6.5 Creedmor in the spec listof the firearm. (Guess they only listed the sample they shot.) Would have been nice to see a breakdown of the various calibers offered.

I kinda wanted a Rem XP100 until I shot one and my ears had ringing for few days and suspect they may have also have vibrated externally for awhile also and I only shot one round..
I think it might have been the 221 fireball caliber but not sure.
If I had had any idea I would have used my ear muffs, but I don't wear ear protection when hunting.

Savage this week announced a large-format bolt-action pistol based on the company's well-liked 110 action, the 110 Pistol Chassis System. Offered at launch in .223 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Blackout, .308 Win, and .350 Legend, the Savage 110 PCS has a machined aluminum, one-piece chassis from Modular Driven Technologies with a 7-inch free-floating forend complete with M-LOK accessory slots. All models feature a 10.5-inch medium contour barrel with a 5/8x24 TPI threaded muzzle. The standard trigger is Savage's in-house AccuTrigger that is user-adjustable from 2.5-6 pounds.

I have 3 Savage rifles. An Axis in 270win, a Scout in 308, and a Hog Hunter in 308. I like everything about them except for the Accu triggers. The blade in the trigger is the trigger and I find it annoying. Any side pressure on what most would think is the trigger disables the trigger requiring the gun to be re-cocked.
I did some research and there are 2 replacement triggers out there for the Accu-Trigger. One of these days I will buy them and swap em out.

A few things come to mind:
1: Savage 110 action? Those are heavy and crude.
2: An aluminum chassis is far too 'cold' for most purposes.
3: Any rifle cartridge fired from a 10.5" barrel has an absolutely intolerable muzzle blast. Even the choices of suppressors are limited with such short barrels and full power rounds such as 6.5 Cr.
4: Those rifle rounds are basically emasculated when fired from such short barrels.
