Alaska Snow Crab season closed?

Don't know a thing about Deadliest Catch TV show but snow crabs have been virtually extinct for quite some time for me due to sticker shock at the supermarket.

Inflation drove them to deeper colder water . They are holding out for higher prices

Instead you get the nothing crab cakes along with the nothing burger. Meat is to be severely curbed under The cashless society soon with CBDC currency.

The govt taking control and messing things up.....as usual! It's VERY hard to go fish for red snapper because the gubernut decided their numbers are low, except commercial red snapper fishing is STILL allowed! Sometimes the season is only a couple days for recreational fishing, some years it doesn't open!

I never had a taste for them. To me they were too bland and as stated way over priced. I like a good lobster in a lot of butter.

They blamed everything except covid.
Those are the risks you take when your survival depends on farming, be it in water or on land. I feel sorry for them, but the ups and downs of farming is the main reason I didn't pursue it even though I come from a long line of farmers.

When I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, these things were plentiful but not really great tasting and not alot of meat on them! Now, soft shell crabs, that's another story😛

Cancelling the US King Crab season will not stop the Russian fleets from fishing the Bering Sea. And the Chinese have no respect for quotas or size limits either.

Did a bit of looking and I see Josh Harris done did some bad stuff. I reckon Josh and Jake will be hitting the glass pipe since they ain't coming back.
Anyways maybe in 2023 season the snow crabs will be $3.99 a pound?

This year they are going crawdad fishing in the Louisiana bayou 😝 Gonna be a little hard getting the boat into some of the backwaters but I'm sure it will be an exciting season. 🦀🦂🦐

Commercial. However I do enjoy the Red Lobster although their prices are pricey
