Until the next one hits by then the funds will be all gone. Building infrastructures on flat level ground at sea level up to 30 ft is insane on any coast line that can be hit by a Hurricane. Insurance flood policies are too cheap and unless the government subsides the bill then therefore nothing should be rebuilt unless it's like The Aztec/Mayan Temples of stone that they built thousands of years ago on their coast lines.

Florida is going into ther ocean anyway. Miami is a joke when it comes subsidence and they are a sitting duck.

Florida is a key swing state. If $ 38,000 each buys enough votes for a dem victory in 2024 it will be worth it.

Just another way of making us all equal. After all you can't expect those that are irresponsibly uninsured to have to shoulder their own burden. Don't forget Kamala just said the other day that she would make sure FEMA funds went to minorities first. Don is correct, this is wholesale vote buying. Bob

I heard someone say that the scariest ten words you could hear were.

We’re here from the government and we’re here to help.

I thought that was for the Puerto Ricans and not for the Floridians.

I am not sure, but when we got flooded out few years back, we were offered money also, but it was a low interest LOAN, not a free handout. We had flood insurance by luck and made out on our own.......

People make choices. Sometimes those choices turn out poorly. It shouldn't be MY responsibility (by way of tax dollar funding) to make up for others' poor choices.

Those who live in disaster prone areas and just keep rebuilding in the same questionable spot deserve NOTHING.

Until 1919, there were less than 1 million people living in Florida. Those people likely had no car, no insurance, and no 10 day warning of a hurricane.
