Opening Day morning view
We had snow predicted for opening morning. The prognosticators said to expect about a half inch of wet snow with no accumulation.
Woke up about 4:30 am and poke my head out of the camper door to check weather and temperature. It was about 25 degrees and huge flakes were falling. All told we got about three inches. Just three days earlier the high was 84.
Had two does trot through that morning along the far tree line. The trailing doe kept looking back as if she was stalked. I just knew there was a big buck after her. They trotted off and he never appeared.

I agree with @hillbille The HOA across the road brought in bow hunters to cull the heard. They are supposed to take 3 does before a buck. Now I'm seeing several new bucks on my side of the road.
