    That stock has seen some heavy use and abuse.


    Reminds me of the time I broke the stock off a nice old

    Remington 550-1 22 caliber when squirrel hunting with dogs.

    I shot a squirrel out and had 4 squirrel dogs on the tree, Mountain curs. The dogs got in a fight over the squirrel when I shot it out of the tree. Was trying to break up the dog fight and ended up with the gun in two pieces. Dad was not happy when he later seen the gun.

    Only one of the dogs was the agressive fighter but that is all it takes to start a dog fight.

    From then on I either hunted him my alsone or tied him up before I shot the squirrel.
