Rocky, I for one believe that those who have served are owed a debt that the rest of us can never fully repay.

I will probably go and get my free sandwich from Mission Barbecue.

    Thanks to all that served.

As one that hasn't, I feel you guys (and gals!) are entitled to such things and if ever there were a group that deserved free healthcare, you folks are it.

Never have gotten a freebie because of my service except for military discounts at Lowe's.

    I agree

This country and fee people owe veterans and current military way more that could be repaid

I was never in the military my grandfather was last to serve I know of in the family in WW I

Not that any war has any thing over another they take a toll on every one millions of young people died or suffering before even getting a chance to live to enjoy life

I Just watched the latest version of all quiet on the western front even following a German soldier it's still horfic what they all faced

I wake up as a old fellow with pains ,aches ,good days and bad days

But at least thanks to all who gave some or all I am here to talk about it

A few years ago we were granted B.X. privileges. That's about the only thing I've taken advantage of, and then only a few times. Seabees, 1964-'68.

License plates in Arkansas are $3.75/yr for veterans. I always renew for 3 years, saves the trouble of doing it every year. It saves me about $30/yr.

While I am not a veteran, I am a daughter of veteran, I am the grand daughter of a veteran and a great grand daughter of a veteran. My dad served in Vietnam from 1968 to 69 was at the Battle of LZ GRANT. His unit received the Presidential Unit Citation. My mother's father who I can't remember was in the South Pacific as a officer with the USMC. My great grand father Harry Phillips went to France in the first world war he lost his only son on Okinawa Island, Newton Elliott Phillips.

Thank you to everyone here for your service. We love you.

On Veteran's day, my wife , who was a G..I. Brat, and has more time over seas then me...and I had three years. ( How's that for a run on sentence). Makes me SOS. I loved it at Midnight chow after a shift on the flight line.

As a veteran I don't look for special treatment but It sure would be nice to have a life time pass to get in front of a line for once, pulling up the rear lolly-gagging along SUCKS, veterans understand what I mean. My wife doesn't understand why I don't stand in lines for anything, even freebies........she just can't comprehend.

I got my first free meal a few years ago, the owner asked me if I had been in the service. I didn't ask for a free meal, while it was nice of him, I felt funny getting a free meal. I did go back to eat there a few times as I had only eaten there once before when it first opened a few months before Veteran's day.

when I get a free meal because of my service, I usually give the waitress/waiter the price of the meal as a tip, if they give decent service........

Hey Rocky, you ought to write a book or two.... 😁

Thanks to all vets for being: " WE THE UNWILLING, LED BY THE UNKNOWING, DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE UNGRATEFUL".

I for one am very grateful for every vet that has served and am humbled by those that did not come home or came home with wounds, visible or not.

Lowe's has veteran parking places marked. I use one occasionally.
