Amazing. Doing what can't be done.

There was at least one similar incident in 'Nam when a KC managed to maneuver into position and "hook up" with a fighter and tow it to Thailand.

The human capacity to adapt and overcome is amazing. And then you have the Tide pod eaters.

I'd bet the Russians can't do that, we're learning their limits on TV 😊.....no spies needed now.

Another Mackay Trophy earned by the 135, this one in SE Asia:

IIRC there was a refueling with a damaged F-16 returning from a mission in Afghanistan where a fuel leak required a 1 hour plus connection to get the F-16 home.

    Tanker crews earn their pay.

I wish we could refuel cars on the go like this. I think it's possible and I think folks would pay for the opportunity.

On the other hand, it's good to take a break from driving every 300 miles or so, so maybe not for everyone.

The heavy tanker boys are one of the backbones of our air force . I am fortunate enough to see them every day as they fly out of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base about 2 miles from my house.

There used to be a saying around the Air Force years ago that the F4 was proof that you could make anything fly if you strapped a large enough engine onto it.

One of these days you may see inductive strips in the highway that allow your EV to draw energy from the road, just like your phone does from it's charger.

We called them "HOGS" on the flightline where I was an F-4 crew chief back in the day!

I love the F4. Back in 1972 they got me a two month early out from RAF Lakenheath in the UK. I was an aircraft electrician on the F-100s, and I was too short to be retrained on the new Phantoms coming into the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing.
