Did anyone else get this notice???
""This is an important message from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. As a result of the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) of 2022, the NICS Section has been working towards the implementation of an enhanced background check process for persons between the ages of 18-20. Please refer to https://nicsezcheckfbi.gov/ for further details.""
There has been so many "spoofed" e-mail address headers trying to get you to click on a link that I am hesitant to do so until I know for certain that this is legitimate.

Edit - There has been lots of coverage of the trial results of the Florida school shooter in the last two days. This was part of the title directed at Florida:
""ATF FFL ALERT - NICS NOTIFICATION UPDATE - FL""
I am in Florida and in their system as I have purchased several firearms through the GunBroker auction side - BUT being 18-20 was a long time ago.

NO, have not, looks legit but who knows. I would discard it Steve because you have no need for it if it was real.

Agree, I don't click on a lot of links that show up in my emails. It's better to err on the side of caution. The BATF shouldn't rely on email to disseminate anything important.

The hackers are getting better all the time putting out legitimate looking headers on their devious traps. Agree strongly with jim above^^^

Hey Steve, tell them you will get back to them as soon as you get the ghost machine gun with grenade launcher built and see where it goes from there.😁😃
If you right click on the from address it should tell you where it actually came from. It sounds fishy to me. DO NOT HIT THAT LINK!!!

I kind of treat Emails like food in the refrigerator, when in doubt throw it out.

The link in the OP above is legit.

I don’t know, Mr. P.
The acronym could mean BS Congressional Action.

I received the notice, probably because I am on several ATF mailing lists. It is legit, but I think that the email was sent out now by mistake. The legislation, of course, has nothing to do with making the streets safe, it is another attempt to further restrict the rights of law abiding citizens. Young folks 18 - 21 will be permitted to die in military combat, but many will not be allowed to legally carry when not in combat zones.

I hear ya Neal, but the government has mistreated our younger soldiers for a long time, I joined at 17 and couldn't vote at all and could only drink beer on base "legally" for the first year and then at 18 and older it depended upon where I was stationed... back then some states still had under 21 drinking allowed, some didn't...I've never believed this treatment of our servicemen and women was right.

Oh that's for sure, but the link in the OP goes to an official website. That's all I was commenting on.

To check you can always by pass the link and go directly to the BATF website. I didn't know you are between 18 and 20.

Many Thanks All for the verification - just renewed my Florida Concealed Weapons License a few days ago - perhaps the FBI is aware of that - and maybe why I was directed to that site - but who knows.
