wood pellets

I had been paying $6.50 for a couple of years for hard wood. Now I can only get pine and that started with the Trump years, so I doubt politics had a lot to do with it.

Pellets are a losing proposition no matter how you look at it.

I hope you have more luck than exactly everyone I've talked to with a pellet stove. All I ever hear are complaints about them not working after a short time and how much maintenance they are.

we bought 3 tons about a month ago I think they were apx 5.00 for a 40 lp bag

we have had a pellet stove at least 15 yrs I have replaced a few parts but that is expected, for any thing , nothing truly expensive so far

we have propane as main source of heat and bought the pellet stove when propane started getting crazy .

but as always, demand and prices went nuts on the pellets also . no win for the working class .

so we use both based on the temperature and cost of the heat source.

I am sure we will get at least one more ton of pellets . had our propane tanked filled a few months back for 2.35 but they would not lock in price or let us pre buy at that time .

we also have several portable electric heaters we keep around and have put them to use over the years also

did I mention I hate getting cold LOL

Ours has been running 12 winters with no parts replacement. Won't heat the whole house but snugs up the bed/sitting room with nice ambiance. They do not run without electricity so are of no use in a power outage.
