Marlin Model 1893 barrel band - historical picture
This is my maternal grandmother in 1942 with her deer taken (Washington, likely) with her Marlin Model 1893 .30-30 WCF. I now have this firearm and appears to be a 1901 serial. Wish I knew the family history. Weaver 4x scope, sling, and all. However, the front barrel band where is connects to the sling swivel is now broken. The barrel band is intact, just cannot attach the sling. I cannot find a source for another barrel band. I suppose someone with the know how could repair the existing.

Search for a Judd barrel band. I have several. They were popular back in the 50's.

Possible it is a home made swivel attachment. Is the bottom of the barrel band drilled and tapped? How is the swivel attached to the barrel band?

That looks like the old-fashioned hook sling swivel. If the band is not broken, just missing the "eye", could you adapt a standard sling stud to work? Re-tap the band to 10-32 or is the existing hole larger than that.
Many of us wish our rifles could talk---You have one that can show you pictures!!

Looks repairable. Add metal to the broken stud, reform it, and peen in place. Or, just silver solder the stud in place. Looks like it may be made to swivel. Good luck.
Added: If you just want to use the rifle, just buy a sling swivel set that clamps on the magazine tube.

I have a setup just like that on my 1957 94 Winchester .32 Special and it is brazed on. Just needs rebrazed or even Gorilla Glue it in place. BTW, I bought the 94 brand new in 1958 with my paperboy money and still have it.

I would say any gunsmith could easly repair it even a lot of DIY could with a little effort with out Bubba results

That’s not original to the gun so decide if you want to restore with an original band or repair the one that you have

Likely is. 20" carbine ordered with sling ring and swivels.
