All Delays it is standard to ask for the address. No unusual amount of delays. If you are selling to 18-21 year olds...since around November 15th all 18-21 year Olds go on a 10 day delay.

I always get a delay about 1/3 of the time. That has not changed recently, but I have not bought much recently either, and the last for two guns did indeed score a delay.

My LGS is getting a lot more delays lately. It's been really bothersome to them, especially with guns ordered and shipped to them. They have made a "delayed" section in their gun vault to hold them. To me, it seem like a form of harassment from ATF.

I got a delay on my last purchase, which was the first delay I had experienced, period. The ironic thing was my Aunt, standing right next to me at the counter, bought a 1911, and didn't get delayed.

I just assumed I was delayed out of spite over what I'd purchased, which no doubt is something the ATF doesn't exactly view in a positive light.

The FBI runs the NICS center, not the ATF. The person who runs the check isn't even a FBI employee; it's a contractor. Regarding the type of firearm, they are told it's a handgun, a long gun, or other firearm. They have no way to know whether it's an AK47 or a Remington 870.

You're absolutely correct, and I should know better, having worked in gun shops in the past, and dealing with the NICS system. It just seemed ironic and/or all too convenient that my first delay ever would be a firearm like that.

I get delayed nearly every purchase anymore. I don't know if it is due to the quantity I've purchased or what.
