Rant on!
Do I live in the dumbest part of the country or do you guys get the same stuff on the news that I do?
Every snowstorm we get the constant warnings about stuff that most folks should already know;
- Wind chill is -18 and they tell you frostbite is possible, so dress warm.
- Whiteout conditions and driving may be hazardous.
- Ice makes roads slippery.
- If your power goes out don't run your generator in the house.
- If power is out don't bring your BBQ grill inside to cook or heat.
- If the plows are out city folks shouldn't park at the curb.
No wonder the country is getting dumber and dumber every year. No one has to think for themselves or even remember that they got the same warnings every winter for their entire lives. The really sad thing is, some will still do the stupid stuff anyway and all of the warnings on the news won't prevent it.

They always harp about the wind chill, just give me the actual temperature and wind speed, that’s all I need. Wind chill as you know is for bear skin, many years ago I decided I won’t go outside in my shorts and no tee shirt in the winter time. I think it’s all about sensationalizing the weather so you’ll keep watching the weather and their commercials.

We get the same stuff here in Florida, Rip currents- stay out of the water, sharks- don't go in the water, tornadoes- stay inside, 120 mph storm winds- secure your patio furniture, major heat wave- stay in the shade and hydrate, freezing temps- wear a sweater................................................
I'm surprised that people managed to survive for nearly a million years before there were TV weather reporters.

Forgot to mention the little female news person that must be low on the seniority list. They had her out in the weather, -15° chill factor and blowing snow, giving weather and road condition updates every 10 minutes. I always laugh when I see the news people unnecessarily out in bad weather. Like the guys you see out in hurricane winds telling you it is windy. Can't they just stay inside and tell you to look out your window?🤔 Bob

Or....OMG !!!!! it's going to be below 0* & snow in Idaho, Montana, Wisconsin, etc... People that live there expect it & no one else should be surprised.
Frankenstorm, Snowmageddon, the Worse Ever, Storm of the Century, etc. is just sensationalism.
But @BobJudy , it's a propane grill, same as having a gas cook top in the kitchen.

How many different ways can you say it is cold and windy and how many times do you have to say it during the newscast.
