WHY DO GUYS PAINT THEIR NAILS BLACK?

I have a younger co-worker who showed up about a month ago with black nails. I joked with him, "What's the matter, they were out of Pink?" 🤔😉😂🤣
I busted on him mercilessly about his pink phone. ("I Like Pink.") He now has a red phone.
I get it for the Goth look. He is not Goth.

@hillbille, I was working constrtuction up North. I was pulling a big horizontal rolling compressor off a deck. Rolled it off the stairs with one hand under the back of the tank. I caught me by surprise and the tank absolutely slammed down on to my left middle finger nail. Much worse than a hammer strike. It throbbed mercilessly until I drilled it to relieve the pressure and the blood. 🤕
One of my co-workers (known for practical jokes) wanted to see it right after it happened. He was there when it happened. I thought he was going to smack it. I had my right fist cocked back and warned him not to. Guess he realized I was serious. 😡

I stole a bottle of purple polish & some remover from my wife and it's on a shelf in the gun room. The remover helps get the sealer off the adjusting screws on rifle triggers and the polish seals them after I adjust them. But I guess that probably doesn't count.

Got a black bugger hook right now. Use to keep one often, mashed from construction and black from grease and oil on equipment.

Because they are happy?
My nephew has 2 or 3 nails painted black and one red, he also dyes his hair, why I have no idea and I am not going to ask him either. He also has a bunch of stupid tattoos all over a ring in his nose and rings in his ears. He wears black paints and shirts and looks like a clown. I try not to look at him too often because I remember the nice kid I taught to shoot and fish not a clown with rings in his face and dumbass tattoos all over his arms.

Some time back I had a boss who painted his toe nails
Our crew met at local bar restaurant one day in the summer not unusual but he was wearing Sandels
Some one pointed out Ron had his toenails painted
Of course we had to look and chime in
His wife was their and backed his story at some point she painted them as a joke and he liked it so for years he just kept painting them
At the time ha was 61 or 62 yrs old

When you mature you can take the nuts and bolts etc out of your face.The tatts take a lot more money and effort to take off.

No use saying anything because we are not allowed to anymore. But i don't think I really want to know why they do it. I see all kinds of strange people at the guns shows every weekend. It gets worse every day. But they have more money than you think. So I try mu best to get all I can from them lolol

Got to looking at a few guitar pickers, some do paint their right hand finger nails.
To do it to strengthen and harden the nails for finger picking a guitar makes sense, though if I were to do it I'd go with clear. To do so out of some odd vanity? No. Not happenin'.

One of my female Sgts (really good soldier) turned up for inspection with a broken ankle- in a cast. Uniform was Battle Dress (cammies). She had an olive drab cast. Toenails were green, black, tan, brown nail polish.

I’ve used red nail polish in place of lock tight before, that’s it. But for men to wear nail polish suggests something else to me.

A nearby Starbucks has an employee that is a 6'3" guy with a face full of makeup, colored hair and black nails. The most off-putting thing about all of it is his choice of lip color. The black lipstick is just NOT working for him....you just stare at his mouth moving without actually hearing anything he's saying because your brain can't stop saying "wow".

The black lipstick is just NOT working for him....you just stare at his mouth moving without actually hearing anything he's saying because your brain can't stop saying "wow".
take him a tube of pink lipstick and tell him next time............
