Tenn. Blackouts Tonight
I just heard some Tenn. politician on the radio saying they were going to have to start turning off power in Tenn. due to the cold. He said to expect to lose power for a few minutes every two hours. At least the cold air is cleaner now that those dirty old coal burning power plants are offline.

That is just ridiculous

I hope not.
(But) Hey, if we all had Electric Vehicles plugged in that would help things right? 🤔😉😂🤣

Yep got a email alert to cut power use. We are served by TVA. I did my part. Pole supporting main line crossing my driveway. No power from 3am until 3 pm today No degrees and high wind gusts.
Saw some one post about tuff man. You fellows have never met the the Linemen around here.
5 of them braved the cold to get the power back up and going. Took them about 4 hours to replace and rebuild everything. The fellow in the bucket ought to get a medal of valor, he endured about 3 full hours in the bucket non stop at over 40 feet off the ground. I asked the crew leader it they wore heated vests, nope, not allowed.
They told me they would not be home until after Christmas due to the huge number of power outages.
The rolling black/brown outs are a sure thing. Bastages shutting down power plants left and right.

They better suck it up and find some other things to turn off, rather than residential power in the midst of some of the coldest weather we have seen/will see in a long time, over the next 4 days.
Yeah, our infrastructure is REALLY ready for mass EV's. (Not)
