How many times did it pass by your state to get more frequent flyer miles?
Last one I got went by 3 times.

Was marked out for delivery for 2 days. The guy that delivered it did so knowing how short staffed the company is, and still busting butt trying to get it done under the above noted conditions. I'm not going to complain at all.

There is still a lot of good hard working people like the driver out there
good on him for pushing on to get his job done
Its too bad like a lot of things so many bad ones are in the spotlight

Way too few workers like that anymore joe.

I had an excellent UPS delivery guy for several years. Part of this was due to me being available to pull him out of a couple of nasty 'stuck in the road' scenarios. When he retired, we went through numerous low effort folks until the current one. His main fault is constantly on his cell phone(I think it's against regs for a driver of a commercial vehicle to use cell phone w/o hands free device but he does). He is pretty conscientious and doesn't leave packages out in the weather.
My area is notorious for bad winter roads and it doesn't take long for delivery drivers to discover this little tidbit.

Our FedEx guy dropped a package by the other day and said he would have been here sooner but he got stuck. The UPS guy stopped and pulled him out! LOL!
Yesterday my SIL saw the FedEx truck getting loaded onto a wrecker. He cracked it up on Hiway 2 between Kalispell and Kila. Hope he wasn't injured and that his managers figure out not to overload these folks in weather like we're having.

UPS, USPS is great where I live. Fed-Ex, not so much. They lost 5 SG shipments in a row for me a few mo. back. It got so bad I had SG Cust/Serv put on my account "Do Not involve Fed-Ex in any Shipments." (That's why they "Cancelled," my Bullpup Shotgun order. The E-mail they sent "Notification" to had my last name miss-spelled by one letter. So I never received it. 😔
I recently did an Amazon order, they have been excellent with their Prime drivers. This item was drop shipped from the mnfgr., they used Fed-Ex. ☹ Got a notification that Fed-Ex was having a problem finding my house, would attempt delivery the next day. Ruh-Roh
They left my package at my buddies house about a 1/4 mi. away. Different road, different address. Where tgey turn in his driveway has his house #'s and his porch had the house #'s on a 4x4 right beside where they left the pkg. He knew me and called me, or I would have bought a 20 piece High End Pots and Pans for somebody besides me.
They are unbelievable. (Unbelievably bad.) They should change their name to Fed-Up.

Just like EVERY other profession, there are GOOD people and BAD ones. Glad you got a good one! Give him/her an attaboy for a job well done!

USPS, on the other hand, refuses to open a mailbox with ice on it.

I had a package coming USPS.It came from New Jersey to SC.According to the tracking it took a week to get to the post office 10 miles from my home, then shipped 60 miles away,20 miles away and finally delivered. 10 days shipping.I have a son that is a UPS driver. Most of those guys started part time loading and unloading, fueling and washing trucks and whatever needed to be done.Hard work and little pay,but steady raises if you did a good job. Then they would be a drivers helper during rush times. If you were a good worker,UPS would send you to a package car(brown delivery truck) driver school. Then you were a fill in driver if the regular driver was out or on vacation and work loading and unloading if you were not needed delivering packages.Eventually you went full time and soon after made top pay which I think now is $40.+ an hour. Not many people screw up and lose a job you worked so hard for and pays well.

Was the package a BBQ grill that has been on back order since spring?

Flagged down my UPS driver on our road, coming back from my VA appt. Told him what a GREAT job they do for us all here and relayed my Fed-Ex experience with him. Wished him a Merry Christmas.
*We discussed that SG recently switched from UPS to Fed-Ex. ☹ He told me they (UPS) Just picked up Walmart.

There for 20+ years we had the best UPS driver. Roger knew everybody's name, and we knew his. Neil, local fellow was expecting a COD delivery. As it turned out it arrived the same day as his daughter's funeral and ,of course, Neil wasn't home. Knowing this Roger paid the COD out of his own pocket and left a note offering his condolences. Neil flagged Roger over the next day to make things straight.

That is what we called their trucks on the C.B. back in the 70's.
