Getting dragged to watch the new Avatar movie today
It's a group thing with dinner afterwards. This should be fun. Not.
Will they be using the correct pronouns? LOL
I have to say I am curious, is it part 2 of Pocahontas where it takes off from where the 1st one ended or is it another propaganda filled rewrite of the 1st Avatar movie?
I had no plans to see it as the 1st one sucked.
In the 1st Avatar, the Evil White Man enslaved the Native Blue people to mine unobtainium. Disney used the exact same plot and dialog from Pocahontas.

Better you than me. I have seen previews to that movie. I think the producer and director were on LSD when they made that film.

Well I sort of disagree, I liked the first movie and have seen it several times, and plan on seeing the second one as soon as I'm clear of the COVID 19 crap.

I will catch it on TV will not be as great but dont have to deal with the obnoxus people
but movies like that are truly better in the large theaters with the curved screens and awsome sound sytems and seats activated by the movie , its been some time sence I ahve been to a theater thought

I did at the start when the natives made the Aigh Aigh Aigh scream. I had to "Sing along."
We watched it at the Alamo Drafthouse in Springfield. I had 2 Boulevard Space Camper IPAs waiting for my friends to show up. The doors of the theater had no firearms allowed signs, which I ignored.
I guess my snoring was heard 4 seats away when I dozed off during the middle of it. The plot and dialogue is so bad that I didn't miss anything during my 1/2 hour nap. I also took a 15 minute bathroom break and didn't miss anything of value.
At 3 hours and 10 minutes, it is a LONG movie, everyone in our group just wanted it to end. The main plot is the same as the 1st - White Man is Bad and Save the Whales. It stole scenes from Mody Dick, Star Wars, Titanic, Dances with Wolves, and threw in some John Wick action scenes.
Would I take young children to see this movie? Hell no, lots of violence, some gore, and dead bodies floating around.
I had some cultural appropriation thoughts about Blue Face and the one white kid with dreadlocks calling everyone Bro, Bro, Bro.

Went and had some good local BBQ at Cross Town BBQ in Northern Springfield. I had pulled pork and sausage. Was pretty good.

Me too. Thank God I sold my stock and made a profit! WAY down lately. Believe they have recently removed the guy in charge. Really a shame how an American destination has gone to hell😣
