Great weapon but I would not call it forgotten yet. The 40 mm HEDP round is really not all that powerful, not like in the movies.

I got to fire a few rounds from one of those during basic training back in 1987. It was cool and the trajectory was pretty quickly learnable. Also got to fire 40 mm practice rounds out of a LAW.........very cool.
BTW........I never saw combat but came close in Panama.

they were fazing them in when I was at infantry training school. we still had some m79 bloopers in the armory though, I thought they were a lot more fun to shoot.......

I had one on one of my AR's but it was only 37mm.
