Movie - The Professionals
Lee Marvin puts a Winchester 1897 to good use.
Shows a good use of it "Slam Firing," early on in the movie. ๐
Seen it a few times. Just finished watching it again. A Classic.
A good Firearms enthusiasts movie. ๐

Do you mean a model 1897 shotgun?? How do you slam fire a lever gun?? You would pinch your finger. Great movie though.

Yes, Ricci. You are correct. I knew 1873 didn't sound right. (Senior Moment.) [And I own a very nice 1897.]
**OP edited for accuracy.

Great old movie
Too much violence and was edited for TV I will guess
But the uncut version is a good old fashion shoot up blood and violence movie I have watched it many times

I don't recall seeing that one. I'll have to look around and see if I can stream it. I was thinking of this one:
I just had my Winchester 1897 cut down to 20 inches from 30. Looks / handles so much better.

Drobs
That was a good movie also.
It was like basic training to be a hit man
The other I will guess was made in the 1960's
And worth looking up

The model 12s function the same.

When I was very young, my two uncles shared the use of a Win 97 shotgun. In the middle 80's they said the barrel may be a "mite loose".........that dang barrel flopped around like a fish outta water.......and asked if I could fix it.
Pulled out the old Numrich Arms book, and soon found out that "someone" had left a few parts out upon "reassembly". Funny thing is.......that after fixing the dang thing......AND showing them it worked correctly..........neither of them wanted it.
It's still somewhere in my gun room.......aka my Fortress Of Solitude. ๐คซ

Ah yes, Lt. Chiquita.
AKA "Baby."
She had quite the impressive upper chest area. ๐
Movie was set in 1915 Mexico. Filmed in 1966. A Very good Movie.

Chiquita who could forget her ๐
I remember this real well in the movie after she was shot . (along with most all the movie of course ๐)
Dolworth: Hey Chiquita! How's your love life!
Dolworth holds Chiquita after shooting her.
Chiquita: Terrific! You want some?
Dolworth: Don't you ever say no?
Chiquita: Never!
as far as slam fire Ithica model 37 shotguns would also allow that
I am sure there is other shotguns made early on that will cycle the same manner

Ken,
I found The Professionals on Amazon for $4 to rent. What method did you use to watch it - youtube, streaming, or DVD?

Weโve ridden mules down in the Valley of Fire ( between Mesquite and Las Vegas NV) where many scenes from this movie was filmed. a few remnants of the movie set remain near โThe White Domesโ which can be seen multiple times in the background.
But it is a good flick.

I like the the Lewis gun. We had several in the arms room and they are a blast to shoot, much more fun than a BAR.

I looked on those free streaming services and didn't see it. Rented it off Amazon and enjoyed it. I don't think I've seen it before. I like the assortment of guns they had. They fit the time period.

That one was a lil creepy. Basically in the uncut story he and the girl do things.

Yeah, I haven't watched that one in long time. I recall it being somewhat depressing and wouldn't go out my way to watch again, any time soon.
