I just shot some like that in a 30-30 and NO issues nary a misfire- was just plinking but all rounds sounded strong.

This box has a child warning on it. This box is from the late 60s not the 50s

'62 it think is when child warning appeared. Ricci, that ammo is from the around 1968 or so. Shot a few boxes in my 7mm mag.

Oct. '70 not '50. Put your glasses back on, Ricci.

Agree. Either way I would not hesitate to shoot em up.

That ammo will shoot just as good as new.

Remington changed the Core-Lokt bullet recently. For the worst, I might add. I have killed many deer with the original design. I have long been trying to reload an equivalent and the closest I have come is with Speer Grand Slams over IMR 4350.

Once reasonably priced, Core-Lokt hunting ammo has become unobtainable, at least around here.

Box is about early 70's. Another give away clue is the color of the primer. the 50's primers were silver.

That's what I'm thinking too. I remember my dad buying a box of 300 Savage ammo that color in ' 73 or '74. Plus that Styrofoam thingy ain't 1950s.

When did they change headstamp from REM-UMC to R-P?

Found a box of 25 Remington 12 gauge deer slugs at a house sale. No child warning going to shoot them at the range. No idea how they were stored, get some newbies used to recoil.

    REM-UMC headstamped until 1970.

Also, the style of box Ricci is showing was in use from 1964-1973. In '74 they went to the green/yellow box.

No, no, no. That stuff is (what was it Ricci?) "72 years and 3 mo. old."
