How old are you guys???
I think I asked this a few years back???? I will be 60 this September 7th. I'm truly amazed by some of your knowledge of firearms and History, Especially Mr. P.
I use to love sitting on the floor, listening to my Grandfather talk about WWII and all the places he has seen and the things he did on the aircraft carries, he was station on. My Grandfather, Joseph Romano, served on the USS Cabot, CV28 and the USS Yorktown. He served combat duty aboard the Yorktown. He was a machinist mate III class. God I miss his stories and the man. He once fell overboard and was picked up by a destroyer, the USS Rich. The men of the Destroyer, gave him a bamboo framed picture, 3 feet by 18", of the USS rich. I donated it last year to the Naval Museum in Washington DC. It hangs there with his name and my name as a donor, on it. This is my grandfather. In the bottom picture, he is in the lower left. He was also an immigrant from Sicily, in 1930. As soon as he was old enough, he joined the US Navy. Oakie
PS, I also didn't find out until I donated the picture, that my grandfather had many awards. He never talked about this to any of us. The navy sent his award ribbons to my mom this past fall. I got them all framed for her. Someday, they will be mine to cherish forever.

I appreciate the thought......but in '67 I was involved in a severe farm accident.
But.......in 1969 I DID show up at the Selective Service board. Thank you for YOUR service.

David has always been a kind, Gentle soul on the forums. I got to speak with him one time on the phone. Super nice guy. One of my favorite too.

I'm not old - it just takes me twice as long to walk my targets out to the 200 yard mark. And still young enough to laugh when the wind blows them over before I get to shoot.

I'll be 84 in May. The way I figure it I'm near old enough that most of you guys could be my kids. I was a tough hombre until I turned seventy, since then I've had a few replacement parts. I realize my limits, I can only walk about twenty minutes in WalMart, but I can still go all day at a gun show. You have to have priorities.

I'll let you figure this one yourselves--I was born between VE day and VJ day, and before the first bomb at Los Alamos that made every one of you that's younger than me a mutant! That's ok though; I married one of you mutants in '67 and we're still livin' it up!

If yer close to the end of the month when you sign up, wait 'til the new month comes 'round. You'll git quite a few bucks more jest fer waitin' a week or so. A lotta peeple think ya' hafta wait a hole yeer to get a raise, but there broke up into 12 monthly smaller raises. To quote China Joe, "This is no joke, I'm not kiddin'". Eddie Life member VFW & NRA
